We followed up our initial foray by completing The Pulau Chawan Esso power expansion project, Esso Lubrication Oil Expansion Project, CAFHI’S Fuel Hydrant System at Changi Airport and Shell’S Crude Distiller electrical work at Pulau Bukom.  
 

We have participated in the Long Residue Catalytic Cracker Unit (LRCCU) Instrument and electrical work at Pulau Ular, electrical work for CD-3 revamp at Pulau Bukom, Instrument work at Pulau Seraya’s Chemical Complex and Shell’s new facilities at Pandan.
 

In the mid-80’s, we were selected by System-Wide International Contractor to undertake the electrical installation work for the Orchard MRT station.  This project opened the way for our subsequent involvement in a long string of MRT stations including, Somerset, Newton,  Kallang,  Aljunied, Kembangan, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Khatib, Yishun, Jurong East, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Gombak. We were also involved in the Yasin 66KV PUB Substation and Shan Road underground on-line substation. Our participation in the electrical project work for the MRT lines and stations continued to the late 1980s when both Phase I and II of the MRT were fully commissioned.Ngee Cheong continued its steady growth in the 1990s  We were also awarded the station electrical installation contract for the first Light Rail Transit project in Singapore.
 

In the 80’s, we ventured into other Industrial projects, such as Yeo Hiap Seng’s factories at Bukit Timah and Dunearn Road, Goldcoin Feedmill Plant, Sin Heng Chan Feedmill Plant.

With encouragement from our clients with business entities in both Singapore and Malaysia, 1983 saw Ngee Cheong Contractors entry into Malaysia to carry out project works for these special clients. These projects included Sin Heng Chan’s Feedmill plant in Kuantan and Malacca, and Shell’s new refineries in Port Dickson.  Due to the steady growth in our Singapore’s activities, our operations in Malaysia continue on a project basis.
 

Since then, Projects we were involved in, include Tuas Tech Park Phase 3, Kaki Bukit Industrial Park, mixed development at Balestier Road, the Henderson Industrial Park. We were awarded Design and Build projects for North Tech building installation and Yeo Hiap Seng machine cabling work.  Both of these projects included electrical design components followed by on site electrical construction works.

Our first single awarded contract value broke the $10 million mark with the award of the Singapore Exchange Centre at S$11.5 million in 2000.
 

Our first condominium project was the Dairy Farm Condominium, soon followed by the Thomson View Condominium Project. Since then, we have completed several other Condominium projects. The most recent being the St Regis Hotel and Condominium and the Cliveden @ Grange Projects.
 

Our first fully electronic Pharmaceutical production facility was the Gemplus Manufacturing Plant. Other Pharmaceutical projects included Schering-Plough Biotech Facility, Schering-Plough Tableting Facility, Pfizer Bulk Pharmaceutical Facility, GSK Amoxycillin 2400 production Facility, Lonzar and Alcon Plants.

We also moved into Addition and Alteration (A&A) projects, which later became a substantial component of our business activities.  A&A projects completed in this period included Le Meridien hotel renovation, the Deutsche Bank Relocation Project at One Raffles Quay.
